Across the Shepparton Region, migrant women contribute every day to families, workplaces, schools, and community life. Yet for many years, their voices have been underrepresented in civic forums, leadership spaces, and decision-making platforms.

The Door Bells – Migrant Women’s Network was established to help change this reality.

Why Representation Matters

True community strength comes from inclusion. When migrant women are represented in leadership and civic spaces, communities benefit from diverse perspectives, lived experience, and cultural insight. Representation is not about visibility alone — it is about influence, participation, and belonging.

Creating Pathways to Leadership

At The Door Bells, we support migrant women to step confidently into community life through leadership forums, skills-building workshops, mentoring, and advocacy opportunities. These pathways help women build confidence, access information, and develop networks that enable meaningful participation.

A Network of Support

The Door Bells operates as a network of networks, reflecting the diversity of the Shepparton Region. Women from different cultural and language backgrounds act as bridges within their communities — sharing information, encouraging participation, and supporting one another’s journeys.

By empowering migrant women, we strengthen communities as a whole. When women are seen, heard, and represented, everyone benefits.
